German Service Shop is an independent BMW specialist in North Melbourne. We service the F10, G30 and current G60 generations across petrol, diesel, mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid and the fully electric i5, using BMW ISTA+ diagnostics and OEM-quality parts. Servicing for all BMW 5 Series models

Your 5 Series uses BMW's condition based servicing system. Onboard sensors monitor oil condition, brake wear and time elapsed, then report the due date through iDrive. As a general guide, an oil service falls due every 15,000 kilometres or 12 months, whichever comes first.

How the car is driven changes that. Short suburban trips, stop-start traffic and regular hard driving all shorten the real interval. Diesel cars need DPF and EGR health checked alongside the oil service, and 530e and i5 owners need the high-voltage battery and cooling circuit looked at regardless of the kilometres showing. How often does a BMW 5 Series need servicing?

Roughly every 15,000 kilometres or 12 months, whichever comes first. The car works the interval out itself through condition based servicing, but short trips, city traffic and hard driving all bring it forward.

Will servicing here void my BMW warranty?

No. Australian Consumer Law protects your right to use an independent workshop, as long as the servicing follows BMW's schedule and uses quality parts. We update the Digital Service Booklet on every service, so the record stays complete.

Do you service the i5 and 530e?

Yes. Both need attention to the high-voltage battery, cooling circuit and charging system on top of the standard inspection items, and we are set up for that work.

Can you service my M5?

Yes. M5 cars run M-specific oil specifications and shorter practical intervals than a standard 5 Series. We stock the correct oils and service them accordingly. See our BMW M and M Performance page for the detail.
